With everything that the last 24 hours had offered Delbert, this was not exactly what he had been expecting. His little sit down with the Suits had explained a couple of details, that he was somewhere alike earth back in the 21st Century. That he was going to be here for quite some time and would have to co-operate.
Gee, like he had much of a choice?
He remembered a lot of nodding before realising he had agreed to attend school the following day. He had no house, atleast until he was assigned one and he would have to just get on with life for the time being.
Again, it wasn't like he had a choice, but he swallowed his fear and got on with it. That was until he woke up in the middle of the night sweat pouring down his face.
He'd not promised to be a student, he had promised to be a teacher. He had never taught anything, to anyone before. He had been the silent, silent partner of a lab technician back on Montresser and he knew more than anything he didn't want to be a teacher.
He was going to be ripped to pieces before he'd even checked the register.
So, wearing a borrowed suit and looking like a lost puppy on the wrong side of the street Delbert stood in a very old fashioned classroom rubbing his hands together out of panic and rocking back on his loafers. What was he going to do? The technology here was so outdated, he didn't even know how to turn the computer on, what if he looked like a fool?
"Well, that's defiantly going to happen, isn't it Delbert. Couldn't just listen to someone explaining they wanted you to teach could you? Just let them talk and nod like a --"
He stopped talking angrily to himself as someone stood at the door to his classroom, his own arm raised and finger pointed he sharply moved to straighten his tie.
"I...hello. I'm noted Astrotnomist Dr Delbert Doppler. I...err...take a seat!"
