Was it bad to say that he hadn't been paying attention as the other student spoke? Yes, but it was completely true. He was still searching through all the knowledge that had been stuffed into the disorganized library inside his mind, trying to find something to answer the teacher with. He didn't want to just not answer her. It was rude of him! But, so was ignoring everything else going on around him. This was hopeless. He had never been asked what he could learn from another nation's government that would be beneficial. He was used to the concept of taking on another's form of politics after being taken over. Sure, there were some instances when a nation, normally a developing one, used their ruler's influences and merged them with their own ideas, but he never had that privilege.

The blond snapped out of his thoughts when he heard his name being spoken. Not his human name, but his nation name. Directed at him. He turned his head towards the girl from Agrabah, a confused frown upon his face. How did she figure it out so quickly? Not even the teacher made the connection! He wasn't giving this girl enough credit. He gave a meek nod. "Ja... I am." He cleared his throat, removing the confusion from his face before focusing back on the teacher. It was against the unspoken code of nations that a human was never to find out what they were. If they did, horrible consequences could spring upon them, such as capturing the nation and using them to their advantage. That... Probably didn't apply here, but it was still something of concern to the boy.

He turned to his bag, shuffling through it until he retrieved a piece of paper and a pen. Placing the paper on the desk, he ran his fingers over the pen, trying to figure out how to open it. Oh, wait, there was a cap. When did quills go out of style? Sheesh. Taking that off, he wrote down the terms on the board, leaving enough space to write down the definitions. He knew a majority of the terms, but some stumped him. Democracy? Wasn't that something America used? Because of France, he was never able to continue on with his studies, but at least he knew everything else.

So she had a good start. Jasmine was very pleased with that. She had little formal training in anything political except for the art of attracting a powerful prince, which she was still terrible at. At least she had brushed up on information for all of her classes beforehand. She was sure that would be a lot of help in all her classes, but this one probably most of all. Although, science might be a little harder.

Jasmine started to copy the terms down. She didn't have very much to write on them. Other than a basic definition for the government types she recognized, she had little to put down. She wasn't able to even recognize Magna Carta. What in all the worlds was a Magna Carta?

At Severin's answer, Jasmine almost jumped up from her seat. She couldn't help but be excited at her deductive skills. "Yes! I was right!" she thought... out loud. And rather loud it was. Jasmine's face grew darker. "Ehem, I can't believe I was right about that," she attempted. She expected to get funny looks from the others. No matter, she'd been through worse. Not anything a lot worse, but definitely worse. Okay, maybe she hadn't really been through anything all that bad.

Okay, so Helena wasn't actually ready to deal with the fact that one of her students was a country. One who, apparently, hadn't managed to mature out of a young stage of life. Strange, she would've thought...how did countries age, anyway? Frowning at herself for getting so sidelined with such a ridiculous question, she looked over at Jasmine. "Please keep the volume down," she said. "I'm glad you are so excited, but I really do want to avoid too much of a commotion."

Looking over at Severin, she stared at him blankly for a moment, unsure of what actually to say. How did you talk about that sort of thing without being extremely rude? "I'm glad that we have someone here who has had such a first-hand account of some incredibly complex political changes. The experiences you are able to share with the class will be invaluable. That said, don't worry about trying to deal with everything. If you don't feel comfortable dealing with a subject, just let me know and we'll see what we can do."

She stood and walked over to observe their work on the terms. At least there was still something to teach them--there were plenty of things on the list that were still blank or nearly blank.

"When you've done all you think you can, come up and I'll hand out some extra readings. You are free to leave after that, though if you have any questions you are welcome to ask." She went back to her desk and began rummaging through the drawers, pulling out some older textbooks on the history of the Enlightenment. Setting one of those aside, she dug around again and pulled out a copy of the Code of Hammurabi. One of the basics, one more modern. That should be a solid starting ground, and they could cover ideas together. She smiled at the selection and sat at her desk again, waiting for the students to finish.
