A Semi-Formal Discussion Thread

    Alrighty, guys, the staff here at the Shifted (meaning me, Shini, and the imaginary friend I made up to win whenever we vote) are keen to run plots for you guys. We've got some major plans and an overarching story we want to tell that we're pretty sure you guys will want to be a plot of, because it's awesome. However, we also know that it's great to get some feedback and ideas from all of you as well. After all, you're the ones who are going to be participating in the plots right alongside us.

    So this thread is so all you awesome members can do just that: give us plot ideas that you're interested in and feedback on any plots going on (hence the original title). We're planning on kicking off with some stuff we've already got planned, but we're definitely open for suggestions.

    Some basic things would be:

• What kinds of plots are you most interested in? Do you want, say, romance based ideas? Action plots? Exploration? Let us know!
  
• Would you like to volunteer your characters for specific roles? We've already got some plot based ideas chugging along in relation to characters, and I'm going to open up a sort of posting board for those pretty soon here. But if you specifically think your char would be awesome to get involved either specifically (i.e. your char fits wonderfully as X role in a plot) or generally (i.e. you just wanna get involved and think your char would be awesome for it).
  
• Any specific plot ideas you'd like to see?
• Specific villains?
  

    Seriously though, radical members, we definitely want your feedback and suggestions. This is a group effort, and we want to make sure we're in it together.

I enjoy romance plots but I think those should be sorted by players individually. I would really enjoy some sort of action plot, especially if there were answers (sometimes my own goals leak into my characters). I want all of my characters to do all of it. I have some specific plans for Henry, and I am willing to let him change rather radically, while my other characters are going to be less flexible. I think it would be really cool to have more villains, maybe even a whole group of villains (Injustice League or something of the sort). But from what I can tell, this place feels like it needs an overarching villain played by staff who generally causes havoc and is responsible for a lot of the mess. The ability for that villain to be overthrown is debatable.

All of my characters so far want to get out of Tenebrae for one reason or another. In particular, I am willing for Henry to mold to fit various roles as needed. For me personally, I don't see a lot of romantic threads happening in the near future, and it would feel awkward to suddenly have that happen.

I have an idea for a plot.

What if for an event the C.A.U.S. try to plan an escape? Like maybe some characters can be somewhere creating a diversion and others would be trying to escape. Obviously, they don't. The Suits stop them in the nick of time, but many are very badly injured.

This would lead to the Suits asking residents to help them keep people in Tenebrae. It would basically be a group to oppose C.A.U.S..

Alrighty, it's getting into fall and the weirdness threads are starting to wrap up, so it's time to figure out another larger thread. I'm thinking that we should put together some event that most of our characters can/would attend. If anyone has any particular ideas or other ideas, than feel free to mention them, so we can get them working. Here's a couple of things that I was thinking:

--A costume party of some kind; not the most original idea, I know, but it's got potential. Given the weirdness that happens every time the Shifted together, this would give us something to work with.
--A more formal dance? Though I could see that being a more possible Winter type plot.
--A Harvest Festival type thing. We could set up a little subboard type thing.

We could also go a little harsher and have it be an announcement/assembly type thing wherein the Tenebrae Staff discuss what's going on. I'd rather veer away from stuff like that, and there are some plans for some darker plots down the pipe, but I'm still tossing it out there.

I'd like to get a few ideas together and then put it up to a vote, so we can start something up around the beginning of October (so plenty of time before we get started, in other words). Like the other one, it would last for a few months, likely till Winter stuff kicks up, obviously.

And I'm excited at the idea of having some plot to work out!

I like the costume party idea; but that's just me loving cosplay and the idea of getting to have characters dress up. Perhaps there's a Halloween Carnival,complete with Haunted House? I can see some of the younger shifted enjoying that, and perhaps some of the older ones as well. I'd love to hop into the plot somehow!

I had an idea. There are some Forgotten characters, and I have a feeling Pinkie Pie will become one of them soon. When that happens, Twilight will go looking for her. Even if Forgotten are still in Tenebrae, without a player, Pinkie won't be found. This might lead to stumbling upon more suit secrets while trying to find her. Maybe all the pony people form search parties, and the CAUS create a diversion? It could also happen during the costume party/fair.

^ Admittedly, this idea sounds pretty unique (and I'm simply playing Devil's Advocate here) - but if we have to come up with an explanation, and if Pinkie Pie's original player comes in (or someone new to play her), that might hazard a bit of a difficulty. But if that comes into play, I'd be glad to toss Spike in to join the search party, even if it'd turn out fruitless.

this might be an excellent jumping off point for right after the fair. Considering that we'll likely have it last through Fall (because we want plots with some substance), that would give various players, including Pinkie Pie's, time to show up again. There might be a few others that people would be interested in going looking for, which would give us more than just the straight ponies looking about or willing to happen. This would also lead fairly well into the next plotline we've got planned. (we've got some loose plot stuff planned for about a year's worth of plot, as I think I've mentioned previously. It's all very fluid, which is why we can easily work in some suggestions like this one).

And we really haven't decided what happens to people who disappear (and I want a better name than Forgotten; that was just something we came with on a moment). I'm tempted to say that they end up Shifting back, which would explain why they can show up again, but I'm willing to entertain other ideas and suggestions as well. It's you guys' board as well.

I think that it would be fun to see some of the shifted face their fears again, maybe?I think it would be fun to see how they try and overcome them.

So it sounds like everyone is most interested in doing some sort of fall festival thing? I'm figuring that a section of town would be sanctioned off as the festival grounds, with various stuff there for people to engage with and interact with. Probably culminating in some kinda event, possibly a costume party?

If this sounds good with everyone, I'll put up the area in the next week or so and get the ball rolling!

I like the other ideas as well. I think the Fall festival should be like a festival/fair/carnival, so like people have to come dressed in costume and there will be games and maybe rides and a hay ride or something, I dunno. A haunted house like everyone else is suggesting would be the best I think as a main attraction to get people to come, as it will be the most amusing in my opinion. It will be nice to see everyone freaking out lol. Fall foods and fair stuff should there as well. And it should take place at night/twilight or something. X)

Wouldn't it be fun if someone EEEVIIIL (or not-so-evil, I suppose) used the festival as a cover for something else? Better yet, wouldn't it be fun if the villain got away with it? Maybe not, as I'm new and unsure as to how this place works, but that sort of things could cause the haunted hayride to go south real quickly.

If there were to be a fall event, I think it would be interesting to see some of the characters go against each other in a few contests. It could be stereotypical fall stuff like bobbing for apples, pie-eating, costume contests and...meh, maybe crop-growing? Maybe there would be a cash prize? (Screamer would also totally cosplay as himself)

Not to mention brinign in the customs of the previous worlds. Like the running of the leaves even, Heartswarming Eve, Nightmare Night [which is basicall just holloween but still counts] and what ever kookie holidays Starfire has.
