Luffy couldn't remember much at the moment, but it had recently dawned on him that he was a fantastic swimmer. He couldn't tell you why or how this epiphany hit him, but once it did his only thought was getting to a body of water. For some reason he thought he would find an ocean first, but after getting lost several times, turned back by people in black suits, and tripped over many rocks, he finally asked someone where he could go swimming....and then he asked a second time because he wasn't sure they had said an actual word.
They called it...a pool. A pool of what? Was obviously water, but why was it called a pool? It looked more like a square of ocean to Luffy. Then again, it was a little too clear and a little too bright blue to be the ocean. The ocean was a lot bigger, wasn't it? Sometimes greenish or white on the tips of it's waves...right? This memory thing was really starting to get annoying. Maybe he should find a doctor...or a musician. Wait, why did he need a musician?
Luffy shook his head slightly then poked a hand under his hat to slide a hand through his unruly, black hair. He stared down at the clear blue water, transfixed. Had he been in a pool before? Nothing was coming to him, but that didn't really mean anything at this point in time. There wasn't anyone else really about that he saw so he had the whole piece of water to himself. That made him smile, but it faded for only a moment when a pang of unwelcome sorrow shot up from his stomach. It felt like...like he was missing something, or someone...or many someones.
Luffy didn't much care too dwell on things, however, if it was important he'll remember eventually he figured. All he could do was keep moving forward with a smile on his face. With that, Luffy let a few bits of laughter bubble up into the air and he launched himself forward.
WOOHOOOOO- he cried cheerfully, before hitting the water and sinking straight to the bottom.
