He wasn't going to stop until she let go. Touche. Though it sounded so very childlike in Minnie's ears that she nearly smiled. Had it not been for the hurt she still was sure she heard through his stubborn retort, she might have. Instead salt rivers still stained her cheeks and she pressed her lips firmly together in hopes of holding her resolve despite the aching her sides endured through his squirming. She made no effort to respond to his words except that she didn't let go as he had insisted she do so. Maybe he'd get tired eventually, or else she'd have to let go for now and try again soon. She new better than to think hugs solved everything always, but the little girl got the feeling that this boy didn't often receive hugs. This was another things she would have to remedy. Then Laharl shouted again and, this time, Minnie was quick to offer a few words back with a level of intensity that mirrored his own.
What does that have to do with anything!? She insisted. A demon?! What did that matter? Minnie had met a few demons back home who were perfectly harmless. Was this fact meant to spook her? Who had told him that being a demon made you a bad person? You can't usually change what you are, but you can always change who you are. Some people just needed a little help to get shoved in the right direction. It's not this boys fault that he wound up so angry and rude, obviously no one had told him he could be better! He deserved to be told that he was worth someones time, that he was worth helping, that he was worthy of love. That what it all came down too. This poor thing hadn't been given enough love in his life. Minnie may realize that she wasn't an excellent authority on all kinds of love, but she could certainly try to....tickle who now?!
Uh oh, he'd noticed her weakness! She was certainly foiled now! N-! she started, turning her head slightly in his direction. That was all she managed before his fingers began to poke at her sides and a wave of giggles forced it's way through her lips. She began to cry for a new reason now, her laughter causing new tears to wet her face. The effort hurt her lungs, but not bad enough to keep a smile off her face. She pulled away to grab at his hands with her free hand. S-stop! she gasped through her bubbly giggles. Before he could run or go fir the tickets, however, Minnie gave up on trying to pull his hands away and took up trying to tickles him back instead. She squirmed about to avoid his hands all while using her own to poke at his stomach and ribs and armpits, chin, anywhere she though she might coax out a chuckle or two. Two could play at this game.
