Canon: Technically I’m using the Loki that was a bit villain in Ultimate Spiderman – since he was just super fabulous there – but I’m using his Marvel backstory in general here

The Outside and the In

Appearance: Though Loki might be short for a Frost Giant, he’s tall for a human. Standing at about 6’4”, he towers over most people – though he believes this is only natural for a god. He has long, lean limbs, and most people underestimate the strength he has simply based on how scrawny he looks. His skin is and has always been a sickly pale, never darkening no matter how long he’s out in the sun. His bright emerald eyes and jet black hair starkly contrasts his skin, and while normally he keeps his hair slicked back and out of his face, he has begun to let it curl and style it less in an effort to blend in more with the humans.
Loki’s fashion sense is just as haughty as he is. He almost always wears designer suits in varying dark colors, usually coupled with a scarf of some kind, regardless of how hot or cold it might be. He will wear other clothes, but usually he makes sure to wear a collared shirt of some kind. He prefers natural or muted colors, generally in the blues or greens. He has an affinity for gold and green accessories too, though he keeps those to a minimum, if he can. After all, he’s trying to blend in.
Personality: If you could only describe Loki with one word, most people would pick conniving. Loki is always planning something. No matter where he is or how horribly outgunned he might be, he’s always plotting and trying to find new ways to get what he wants. Lying is his specialty, and he lies so frequently and so well that almost no one can tell when he’s actually telling the truth. He’s only in it for himself too, and he uses others in a heartbeat.
Loki usually comes across as cold when you first meet him (how ironic, given his backstory). He keeps everyone – and I mean everyone – at a distance, refusing to open up even when he’s been pushed to the edge. When he’s acting or lying, though, he can come across at literally anything, though he’s discovered that he can pull off a very good ‘nice guy’ and the girls go nuts over it. He keeps his true emotions locked away until they reach the breaking point. Then and only then does he show his true colors, usually pitching a fit like the petulant spoiled brat that he is.

Right Up to that Key Moment
History: Loki was the only son to Laufey, king of the Frost Giants. Ashamed of his son’s small size, Laufey hid Loki away, but the infant was discovered by Odin when the Asgardian led his forces into battle against the Frost Giants. He adopted the boy, raising him as his own and keeping from him the fact that he was not an Asgardian. While Loki had a better life than he would have had on Jotunheim, he still grew up bitter and frustrated. He was nowhere near as strong or brave as his elder brother Thor; his strength instead lay in magic and cunning.
Loki had a natural talent for mischief as a boy, and what began as simple tricks and pranks grew to be more and more deadly. His bitterness seeped into his pranks, especially when he discovered the truth of his heritage. Mischief quickly turned to malice, and he grew power-hungry, seeking the throne that Thor was destined to inherit. Throughout most of his adult life, he made numerous attempts to off Thor and claim the throne, all of which were unsuccessful. He was banished from Asgard on numerous occasions, but has always managed to find a hole to worm back in through.
His latest attempt to claim the throne involved allying with the Frost Giants and claiming the throne during Odin’s Sleep. Unfortunately, his attempt was cut short when Thor and Spider-Man foiled his plans and defeated him. Humiliated, he swore revenge on the mortal. Months later, he traveled to Earth, tricking Peter into eating an enchanted hotdog, transforming him into a pig. He set several of Asgard’s greatest warriors on the boy, but once again, his plans were foiled and he was forced to retreat.
Key Moment: Loki was Shifted right after episode 20 of Ultimate Spiderman, when his plans to get revenge on Spider-Man for ruining his plot for the throne were overturned once again. He remembers everything, but he claims to have forgotten.

A Roleplaying Shift
RP Sample: A resounding crack echoed in the air, and Loki staggered as he was suddenly not riding his mount. He managed to get his footing, wrinkling his nose in disgust as mud splashed up on his golden armor. Damn. Growling in annoyance, the prince raised his eyes, swiveling his gaze about as he tried to ascertain where he was. This wasn’t Asgard. Where in the Nine Realms was he?!
“Who dares to transport me against my will?” he snarled, hands balling into fists. His anger was getting the better of him, and if someone didn’t start explaining fast he was going to –
-… not cast a spell on them. Normally Loki could feel the magic tingling in his palms and spreading outward at this point, but he felt… nothing. Frowning, he raised his hands, opening his clenched fists and staring at them like they were something foreign. He couldn’t feel any of his magic. What had happened?
“Sir?” a voice called out, and Loki whirled to face them, green cloak flowing dramatically behind him as he did. “Sir, do you remember who you are?”
“Of course I –” he stopped mid-sentence, tilting his head slightly to the side as he did. Did these people not know who he was? And… they expected him to not know who he was? Oh, this was a golden opportunity. He could easily lie and claim to not know a thing, and use this place to hide until he had regained his power. Perhaps he could even sway a few people to his side. Letting the angry and haughty expression drop from his face, he stared wide-eyed at the man in the business suit, blinking as he murmured, “I… don’t know.”
The man eyed him suspiciously before shrugging. “Well, don’t worry about it. We’ll take care of you now.” A tiny smirk flickered across Loki’s face. Good.
