The Outside and the In
Face Claim/PB
Emma Watson
Appearance: In terms of looks, these days Hungary is very feminine. She keeps her mousy brown hair long and usually wears it down, often with a flower tucked behind her ear or clipped just above it, if she needs to keep it back to do work she'll tie it back with a bandana, it's rare for her to put it up completely unless she's feeling particularly fancy. She prefers to wear dresses and skirts, usually cut to rather modest lengths. You'd never guess from looking at her that she used to be a tomboy, or that she can still fight with the best of them.
She'll don a uniform if she needs to fight, though there's not really any call for it here in Tenebrae, and it's usually only if a war breaks out - otherwise she can hit someone with her trusty frying pan just as well if she's wearing a skirt.
She has a sweet face with a friendly smile, though she can be absolutely terrifying if you anger her - and you'll definitely know if you've angered her. She doesn't really hide any of her emotions, so if you've pissed her off, it'll be obvious.
Personality: Hungary is a reliable 'older sister' type, she's very nurturing and prone to taking people under her wing and looking after them, and she's a very sweet and gentle person - most of the time. She can still be somewhat boyish when she gets overly excited (a side-effect of thinking she was a boy for so many years) and she can be very scary when she gets protective of anyone she cares for. She's an excellent warrior and still shows it, even though she's trying to be more ladylike these days.
She loves cute things, including cute boys, and is just the tiniest bit (read: entirely massive bit) of a fangirl when it comes to cute boys being together. Find a photograph of two boys kissing? Hungary probably took it.
She's quite forthcoming and direct, so though she's not going to say anything mean to outright hurt somebody, unless they've really annoyed her, she's also not going to beat around the bush or avoid a subject, she's much more likely to come right out and say what she's thinking.

Right Up to that Key Moment
History: As with the other countries, Hungary was not born so much as simply came into being when a group of people with common purpose declared a land as theirs. In her early years, she was a rather wild nation, a nomadic warrior who was something of a tomboy - so much so she actually thought she was a boy for a very long time.
In her early years she fought a lot, defeating the majority of the countries around her, though she was consistently beaten by the Ottoman Empire, and she had a lot of trouble with Prussia. Their rivalry had a sort of 'frenemy' feel to it, sometimes they would be quite civil to one another, while at other times they'd be at each other's throats. It was through a meeting with Prussia that she finally came to accept that she was female, and decided to start acting more ladylike.
She went to live with Austria while they were both under the rule of the Holy Roman Empire, taking Italy under her wing as they were both servants in the house, and it was obvious she came to care for him.
When Prussia invaded Silesia and sparked the war of Austrian succession, Hungary returned to her warrior roots in order to help him out, since he was definitely losing the war until she came along (his only ally being England, who was only there because he wanted to fight France).
After the fall of the empire, she remained close with him and they eventually married. Though it was officially a political union, to create the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the two cared for each other very deeply and were happy to wed. Even after the dissolution of Austria-Hungary and their return to separate states, they still remained very close.
Key Moment: Between wars and in a period of great upheaval, Hungary was busy trying to keep up with the changes in power, loss of land and loss of people that came following the first world war and her 'divorce'. This was made significantly more difficult by her sudden disappearance.

A Roleplaying Shift

"But they're my people, we-" Hungary trailed off, the table of people she had been talking to seemed to have disappeared, instead she was standing in a crowded street that definitely did not look like the war-torn Budapest she had just come from.
She was stressed out, the war was over but it didn't feel like it for her, she'd barely changed out of her uniform for what felt like years, and now suddenly she was being randomly transported places? Seemed like magic to her, this had to be Romania's fault, it would be just like him to do something so mischievous at the worst possible time.
"Excuse me, miss?" a young man was approaching her, unlike all the other people that seemed to be giving the strange girl in the military uniform a wide berth. She turned to look at him, anger glinting in her eyes, and she wished she had her frying pan handy.
"Yes? Who are you? Did Romania do this? Where am I?"
"You're in a different world," the man explained as calmly as possible, obviously attempting to sound soothing "It's been happening to a lot of people, I don't think anybody you know is responsible. I'm here to help you."
"What do you mean, help me?" She forced herself to calm down a little bit, but she wasn't about to believe anything he said without good reason.
"I come from a place called Tenebrae Estates, we've been finding people like yourself and taking them there, it's a place you can be safe until we find a way to send you home."
"...until? That's not good enough! You have to send me home, my people need me!"
"I'm afraid we can't do that miss, but we're working on it, please come with me..."
"No. If you can't send me home, I'll find a way myself." She still hadn't entirely dismissed the notion that this was all Romania's doing, she was sure she could find England or Norway and get them to reverse it - the whole 'different world' thing hadn't quite sunk in yet.
"I'm afraid I can't let you do that." the young man was obviously prepared for a fight, Hungary barely had chance to react before he'd stepped up, weapon in hand, and rapped the back of her head with sharp precision. He caught her as she crumpled to the ground, other suited men coming to help him efficiently spirit her away.

Tell us a Little About Yourself!: I clearly have a problem. But soon I'll also have a Prussia, so that's ok.
