The Outside and the In
Face Claim/PB Ulrik Munther
Appearance: Tall and slim, Jack has vivid ice blue eyes and before being shifted had pure white, slightly unkempt hair. It has no become more of a blonde, although the general untidiness is still present. He has an extremely pale complexion and can usually be seen wearing a blue hooded top with light brown, rather tattered, trousers made of a light material. Generally sticking to this style of clothing in Tenebrae Estates, he retains is compulsion to go barefoot, despite the constant 'advice' of others against it.
Jack generally has a mischievous demeanour which shines through in both his expression and the way he carries himself. He often exudes an air of confidence, perhaps overconfidence in many situations. He has a staff resembling a shepherds crook with a G shaped tip. He still often carried this with him, just in case his powers return.
He is most comfortable in the cold and prefers to avoid too much heat of he can.
Personality: Jack Frost is mischievous and rebellious and has little to no interest in being bound by rules or responsibilities. Instead, he prefers to spread his winter magic for the sake of the personal amusement of himself and children. Despite these traits, Jack can also be gentle and generous.
Initially frustrated with three hundred years of the Man in The Moon never answering his questions about who he was or why he was created, as well as why no mortal could see or hear him, he became rather an antisocial loner. Spending time with the Guardians eventually made him realise that he was more than simply a mischief-making winter spirit and was in fact a full-fledged Guardian in his own right. This is further bolstered by his recovered memory of dying whilst saving his sister, showing that he also has a selfless streak.
Despite overwhelming odds, Jack has been known to face difficulty with a sense of courage, determination and a touch of sarcasm, rarely faltering in any but the most dire of circumstances. Becoming the Guardian of Fun, he relished his new duty of bringing fun and joy to children the world over and thus bolstering their belief in the Guardians.
Now in the education system of Tenebrae, despite arguing that he is technically too old for school, Jack is the class clown and the one most likely to be disruptive with his mischief. He just wants to have a good time and bring the spirit of fun to those around him, no matter what!

Right Up to that Key Moment
History: Before becoming an immortal being with power over ice and snow, Jack was once a human being who had a family of his own. Like his current form, Jack was mischievous and he liked to have fun and play tricks on his friends and his sister. When Jack and his sister got themselves in serious trouble when ice skating on top of a frozen lake that had begun to crack, Jack made it into a game and was able to save her at the cost of his own life as he fell through. The Man in The Moon, seeing Jack's selfless act of heroism and sacrifice, shone his light and transformed Jack into a Winter Spirit. Rising up from the frozen lake, he is reborn as Jack Frost. Catching sight of a nearby settlement, his former home, Jack quickly realised that no one could see or hear him. Leaving in a state of confusion, having lost all memory of his previous life, he immediately began his adventures of fun and mischief.
Three hundred years later, and just days before Easter, Jack was still causing mischief and decided to have a 'snow day' in his former home town. After accidentally knocking an interesting book out of the hands of a child name Jamie, he follows him to his house where it becomes clear that he still isn't believed in. Taking offense at a comment made my Jamie's mother, he decided to have a little fun with him and starts a snowball fight between the boy and his friends. This results in Jamie falling over on his sled and skating across the switch, to which Jack reacts by creating an ice path to lead him back to the park. In the ensuing chaos, Jamie loses a tooth and the conversation quickly moves on to the Tooth Fairy. Trying to remind the children of the fund they just had, Jack is saddened when they walk through him. Asking the Man in The Moon what he needs to do to be seen, he is interrupted by the arrival of the Sandman's dream sand. He also noticed a shadow, which he followed to an ally and was revealed to have been Bunnymund, better known as the Easter Bunny!
Apprehended by him and two yetis, Jack is flung into a sack and through a portal to the North Pole. There, he meets the Guardians of Childhood, who reveal that he himself has been chosen by The Man in The Moon as their newest member. It is also revealed that Pitch Black (The Boogeyman) has returned and seeks to fill the world with his darkness and fear. Not wanting to be tied down, Jack refuses the offer and is taken away by the groups leader, North or Santa Claus. He explains that The Man in The Moon must have known that Jack has something special in him and North reveals his centre which is Wonder. Asked what his 'centre' is, Jack is confused and replies that he doesn't know. They are the interrupted by Bunnymund revealing that there was trouble in the Tooth Fairy's palace and that they have to make their way there to help her.
Upon arriving, it becomes evident that Pitch is responsible. Using his Nightmares to catch all the other fairies and steal the collected teeth, Jack is able to save one named Baby Tooth. The Guardians then confront Pitch, whom they battle until his escape. After surveying the damage, Jack asks why Pitch took the teeth, to which Tooth reveals that they hold the greatest childhood memories, including his own. Surprised that he had a life before he became immortal, he is frustrated to discover that his memories too were stolen and becomes determined to reclaim them. It is also revealed that if the worlds children stop believing in the Guardians, then they are weakened and unable to defend them against Pitch.
Collecting the teeth and leaving the gifts between them, the group ensure that Tooth is still believed in but the hunt ends in Jamie's room where he wakes up and see them, with the exception of Jack. In the ensuing chaos, the others are knocked out by the Sandman's dream sand, leaving only him and Jack to witness the return of Pitch's Nightmares.
With the others soon joining in the latest confrontation with Pitch, it becomes apparent that they are too tired from the dream sand to to much. Sandy is turned into nightmare sand and an enraged Jack confronts their foe using a powerful wave of ice, destroying the Nightmares and causing Pitch to flee once again.
Erecting a memorial for the Sandman back at the North Pole, the next task is to ensure that easter goes ahead as planned and they make their way to Bunnymund's warren. Here, the group find Jamie's sister, who had inadvertently found herself their after finding one of North's snow globes. Using his ability to relax others and open them up to fun, Jack is able to bring out Bunnymund's sense of play and allows her to help prepare the eggs for Easter. Tasked with taking the girl home, accompanied by Baby Tooth, Jack heard a voice that led him to Pitch's lair and the kidnapped fairies, as well as the missing Tooth Boxes. Confronted by the nightmare king himself, he is kept distracted long enough for his Nightmares to destroy Easter. Giving him the Tooth Box containing his memories, Jack realised that baby tooth was missing and that all the eggs had all been destroyed.
With the Guardians disappointed in him, Jack left and made his way to Antarctica. Here he was once again confronted by Pitch, this time wanting to recruit him. When Jack refused, Pitch revealed he had Baby Tooth and told him he will give her back if he gave him his staff. Jack agreed but Pitch went back on his word, Baby Tooth only being freed by pecking at him. Throwing her away, he broke Jack's staff and knocked him into a valley with his Nightmares.
Finding Baby Tooth, he is saddened about his constant mistakes until he heard the from earlier voice again. It was the memories contained in his Tooth Box, which his little friend taught and encouraged him to open.
The flashbacks showed Jack some of the fun memories he did have with his sister and also showed him the moment when he saved her from the ice. These memories made Jack realise that he always had been a Guardian, giving him the courage to fix his mistake and save the Guardians and the children of Earth from Pitch.
Fixing his staff, he was able to find Pitch's lair and witnessed the last few lights, the last few children who still believed in the Guardians, going out. Save one, which he realised was Jamie and he made his way promptly back to Burgess.
With even his faith wavering, particularly in the Easter Bunny who had seemingly abandoned them, Jack uses his powers to restore his belief. This has the unexpected effect of causing Jamie to believe in Jack too, as snow appeared in his room and he remembered his mother saying something about Jack Frost nipping at his nose. Excited to have his first believer, Jack heard North's sleigh and along with Jamie rejoins the others.
Working together with the Guardians, who have been severely weakened by the actions of their enemy, the group are cornered and Jamie told Jack that he was scared. Remembering his sister having said the same, he realised that his centre was 'fun'. Throwing a snowball at Pitch distracted him long enough to gather Jamie's friends and restore their belief in the Guardians, as well as make them believe in Jack too.
Confronting Pitch one last time, Jamie and his friends let go of their fear and volunteered to protect the Guardians. With this, they were able to turn the nightmare sand back in to dream sand, restoring the full power of the Guardians and reviving the Sandman to be revived. This allowed the latter to restore the belief of children across the world! With this belief and the strength and courage of all present, Pitch was defeated and Jack made an official Guardian.

Coming to, the boy groaned as he felt grass beneath him. Odd, hadn't they been heading to the North Pole? There shouldn't be any grass, he thought as he opened his eyes and was instantly blinded by the sunlight. Sitting up, it soon became further apparent that this definitely wasn't the North Pole. Where was everyone anyway, he wondered as he stood up, staff in hand. Had he fallen off the sleigh? Whatever had happened, he would need to find out if the others were alright, and so he made his way to fly to the North Pole. Jumping up into the air, he fell straight back to Earth with a skid and a bump.
"Ow...", he murmured in confusion as lifted himself from the awkward position he had found himself in. A little dazed, he picked himself up and once again took in his surroundings. He had seen many places like this on his travels, but something seemed different somehow. In fact, he felt different, which probably explained why he couldn't fly or...
Tapping his staff on the ground in order to create ice and snow particles, again nothing happened. Tapping the ground a few more times with varying degrees of force, it became quickly became apparent that somehow he had been rendered powerless! Now even more confused, Jack looked up at the sky, looking for any sign of North and the others, perhaps even the Man in The Moon himself.
It was at that point several people in suits arrived, seemingly heading in his direction. He hadn't noticed anyone around until then, but surely these people couldn't see him? They looked far too serious to believe in the newly elected Guardian of Fun, that's if he even still was a Guardian. Why couldn't he use any of his powers? Pitch couldn't have returned that quickly, and even then if he'd had the power to complete drain their abilities, he would have done it and ensured his victory.
Stopping just in front of them, it became apparent just how huge these people were.
"I see we got ourselves a right bunch of bruisers here", he remarked with a cocky grin as one of them stepped forward. The man simply smiled as he began to speak.
"I assure you we mean you no harm", he said simply with a smile as he raised his hands to show that he was no threat. To who though, it took a few seconds to work out as the man continued to look him right in the eye. His cocky expression turned to one of surprise and wonder.
"You...you can see me?", he asked to which the larger individual smiled patiently.
"Yes son, I can see you", he answered in a manner that could almost be considered patronising, if it weren't for the warmth the tone exuded.
"You can see me!" Jack responded in an excitable tone as he once more attempted to fly in his excitement. Once again though, he went crashing to the earth, or he would have done if the besuited man hadn't caught him. The other two guys also stepped forward, but thankfully they weren't needed at that particular moment. It was only when Jack calmed down from the revelation that something else occurred to him.
"If you can see me then...did you take my powers?", he asked as he pointed his staff toward the lead individual. To do what with, he had no idea, but then if his powers didn't come back soon he could still use it as a weapon, right?
"I did not", the man answered patiently as he lowered his hands, "But I may be able to help you find them", he offered. It was the truth, in a way, but first he would need to find out where this kid had come from and more importantly who he was.
"What's your name kid?" he asked gently in the hope of earning a little of his trust.
"You can see me, but you don't know who I am?", the boy answered as another confused expression crossed his face. How could someone believe in him if they didn't even know his name? It had to be a trick, maybe these guys were just like Pitch and were actually trying to confuse him.
"Don't tell me you've never heard of Jack Frost?", he answered he pulled his staff back over his shoulder. On second thought, these guys were no threat, in fact he was sure he could handle them even without his powers!
"Jack Frost huh", the group leader repeated as he took note of this detail. He had heard of the old myth of course, but the shifted, as he knew this kid was were usually animated characters in their former life. Unless...
"Well Jack, he began as he cleared his throat." I would like to extend an invitation to Tenebrae Estates. I think you'll like it there, plenty of kids your age to hang around with and do whatever it is you do.
"Whatever it is we do?", Jack laughed as began to pace. Oh no, you have no idea what it is I do." It was becoming increasingly apparent that these guys actually did know nothing about him and he relished the chance to explain it to them. "I'm the Guardian of Fun, what I do is make snow days and freeze things and play with kids...but none of them ever see me...", he finished sadly. Jamie and his friends were an exception of course, so he at least had some believers. Perhaps he had a few more than he realised.
Stopping again in front of the three large men, Jack once again flashed a cocky grin as he continued.
"So in other words, once I have my powers back I won't need to stay anyway. What I need is to catch up with the others at the North Pole. So, thanks but no thanks."
The smile on the leader faltered a little as he realised that this kid was going to make things difficult.
"This isn't an offer you can refuse", he said a little more coolly than before.
"And if I do refuse?", the former winter spirit asked as if daring them to do something.
"I'm afraid we must insist", the leader continued as the other two stepped forward with rather dangerous expressions. Rather like something that was going to pounce on and eat him alive, Jack thought, but then that wasn't something he had to worry about!
"Besides", the man continued in a more friendly tone as he placed an arm to halt the others in their tracks, we can help you get to, the North Pole was it, and return your powers to you.
"So you brought me here and took my powers", Jack retorted as the proverbial penny seemed to drop. The man however, shook his head.
"No, but we can find out what did and send you home. We can't help you though if you don't come with us. You can't stay here, and we don't want to have to make you come with us."
"Okay, I get it, don't mess with the suits..." He trailed off as he considered his options. Perhaps going with them would be a good idea if he were to find out where he was and how to get home. He didn't trust these people one bit, but there didn't really seem to be any others options at this point. He supposed that he could maybe co operate, for now at least.
