It had been a long, hard day at work. Tink felt as though her arms were about to drop off from all the sanding she’d had to do. Even worse, she’d had to do it all by hand because the electric sander wasn’t working. It had been raining on and off all day. She knew this from the varying degrees of wetness of her customers. Before she left, she’d asked her boss about the weather. He’d said that the rain had probably passed. When Tink looked outside, the roads were mostly dry. Yes, it was still very cloudy, but a bit of afternoon sunlight was filtering through. It would be safe to walk home, as she usually did.
Let it be known that Lillian Tinkerbell was not a weatherwoman. Sure, her journey had started out fine. She was wearing a pair of black skinny jeans and a lime green t-shirt and black leather boots, nothing special, but unfortunately, nothing exactly water resistant either. She’d been walking for ten minutes. At that point, there was a loud crash of thunder, a bright flash of lightening, and rain started bucketing from the sky. The sun was still shining too. Tink quickly ran for cover, ducking under the awning of a closed shop. She quickly brushed the water off her clothes. She was a bit damp, but not too wet…yet.
The young blonde woman stared moodily out at the rain. What was she going to do now? She didn’t have an umbrella or a raincoat or a rain hat or even a newspaper. She would be drenched in minutes if she went out in this mess, but she had to go out in it. Her house was still roughly fifteen minutes away by walking. Maybe she could catch the bus, but she wasn’t sure where a bus stop was or how long that’d take. She reached in her pocket and pulled out some lint. Besides, she’d spent all her money on lunch earlier. So really, what was she going to do?
Tink reached into her pocket and pulled out her little talking device. She quickly typed in a message and then hit the SAY button. “Hey, Silver Mist!” The device shouted loudly. “Can you do me a favour and make it stop raining?” The rain continued to pour down. In fact, it seemed to be raining even harder. “Just for twenty minutes?” Still raining harder than ever. “Please?” Just then the rain suddenly eased up. She breathed a sigh of relief. “Thanks a lot, Sil. I won’t forget this.” She started to walk out of her shelter and into the slight drizzle. She’d barely been walking a minute, however, when the sky unleashed its fury on her. Again, Tink ran for cover under the awning where she resumed moodily staring at the rain.
(OOC: I’d like this to be a love interest thread. Nothing too serious, maybe just Tink’s girly hormones firing off for the first time.)
