Appearance: Spike stands at a short height for his age -- 4'7, which he always makes a big deal about, considering it one of his worst traits. He has green eyes, and has a bit of a never-going-away cough, from all those years of breathing fire. He's athletic in build, but somehow this does not add up to making his height any greater. He has tan skin, slightly pointy ears (former dragon, after all), and slightly sharper teeth than the norm, which he hides away as a birth defect that no one could ever truly fix. Spike also has a slight birthmark now on the backs of his hands -- little indents on each finger, which he passes off as his claws not wanting to go away fully. He's commonly dressed in what his 'sister' allows him to dress in, and most of the time, it's plain and makes him look good. On occasion, he sneaks out with a few graphic design t-shirts, but most of the time he's caught.

Spike is a young boy at heart, raised by...well, a girl. He's a bit naive, but can be genre-savvy and street smart at times. He's got a temper to him, but he knows when to hold it back. He's loyal, but can be bribed. He's mature, but he enjoys immature things. That sort of thing. He's undeniably caring to a fault, being Twilight's best friend before and even since she met the rest of the girls, and both of them acting as mutual support to each other. He's a bit sarcastic and dry witted at times, but everyone knows that he's only got the best intentions for everyone in mind, no matter how horribly he aims for them.
Twilight rubbed off on Spike quite a bit, being that she's the one that raised him. Spike is somewhat of a nerd, taking passions in literature, writing his own tales, and various other geeky pleasures. He even sometimes engages in cosplaying. Nonetheless, he accepts all walks of life as a result, and that makes him one of the more reasonable people to go to for guidance, despite him claiming otherwise.
Spike has a nature to be wanting to fit in, like most teenagers do. To this extent, he often could be tempted to try things that may hurt him due to peer pressure, and he may go into fads quite easily, if someone doesn't correct him. This could be a potentially dangerous trait to himself and others, causing himself to change his personality drastically for the sake of fitting in.
Spike also has, like most dragons do, a horrible sense of greed lying deep inside him. On the outside, while he may be selfless, he has a horrible penchant for being greedy lurking beneath, causing him to be a bit of a hoarder. He often combats this trait, and combats it quite well, but sometimes it shows itself, causing Spike to fear for being hated because of it.
Spike actually has quite low self-esteem, he pours insults upon himself quite often, but doesn't show it for the sake of making everyone else seem happy. His key priority is friendship, which has been reinforced repeatedly, though he sometimes believes he's not worthy of the friends that he has.

History:
Spike was born from a dragon egg given to Twilight Sparkle from Princess Celestia, as a first test to prove her magic. He was hatched in a classroom, and raised until he reached a certain age by the princess, then given to Twilight to act as her assistant from then on. Spike became as loyal as can be to Twilight, and became her first real friend. He took it upon himself to help her with most everything, and as time progressed, they easily established a bond akin to siblings.
As Twilight and Spike moved to Ponyville, Spike was instantly social, establishing bonds with Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Applejack instantly...along with a one-sided crush on Rarity. He stayed encouraging to Twilight, however, and tried to keep her in the loop, even despite her rejecting it outright...until Nightmare Moon happened to show up. As Nightmare Moon arrived, Spike found himself amongst the Elements of Harmony, becoming their friend who tagged along to every adventure...and even got to save the day a few times, acting as a hero to the Crystal Empire! As the years progressed, however, Spike found himself for the most part as the only one without special qualities -- still a baby dragon, somewhat useless, and he took to trying to prove himself more and more.
When Twilight happened to be shifted, Spike put Ponyville on high alert, and even moreso when he realized that other Elements of Harmony were missing. A few days afterwards, he, himself, was taken from his home, and shifted.
Key Moment: As Twilight was taken, Spike was taken a few days afterwards (a looooong few days of worrying).

RP Sample:
Landing in the middle of a garden, Spike picked himself up, blinking. He gazed up, and looking around, he bit his lip. Where was he? He sat up, smoothing the bruise on his forehead. He was bleeding. Dandy. Wait. One moment. He looked at his....HANDS?! He immediately jumped back. "AAAGH!" And with that, a teenage girl peeked out the window, and dashed over.
"Hey, who are you?" She asked.
"....Spike." Spike replied, glancing about worriedly. "...Where am I?"
The teenager almost immediately made a blog post on this unnatural phenomena of a (cute) teenage boy appearing in the middle of her yard, when suddenly....a woman, supported by two men, walked into the home, immediately darting over to Spike. "...Are you feeling alright?" The woman questioned. Spike let out a shivering sigh, and nodded, coughing a bit. "Who would you happen to be?"
"Spike....." Spike answered. "Spike....Sparkle?"
"Relation to Twilight Sparkle, perhaps?" The woman answered with a bit of a smile.
"T-TWILIGHT! WHERE IS SHE?!" Spike yelped, his voice cracking a bit. He immediately grabbed at his throat, looking confused, but he was overwhelmed with the revelation that Twilight might be there. "PLEASE! LET ME SEE HER!"
"She's staying at Tenebrae Estates. As well as a few of your other friends are. It's alright. You're safe. Would you like to come to Tenebrae, with everyone else?"
"....I'm going to have to ask a few questions." Spike deadpanned. "One. Where is 'Texas'? Is it in Equestria? Two. Why am I.....weird looking now? Apparently I'm not a dragon anymore. Three. Where. Is. Twilight?"
"For your first question, I'm afraid you're not in Equestria anymore. You're on the planet Earth. Two. You've been shifted, and you are now a human....I'm afraid your dragon heritage has given you a permanent cough from overusage of your flame breath, but....oh, and three? She's at Tenebrae, and you'll get to see her if you come with us."
Spike let out a hollow sigh, rising from his seat. "Let me go see her, and then we'll talk about me staying at....Toonobrah or whatever." He pouted.
Clearly, Spike was not going to be a happy camper, with all of his worries....
