It was night when the little 'tour' that the suits gave to Zim finished, and considering he got shifted fairly late, this wasn't too much of a surprise. He was now wandering through the rest of the town before he was bound by the curfew to go to that silly 'dorm' that he was sharing with another earth-monkey. He'd loathe it. Sharing his living space with a human? Ugh. How horrible. It's like a nightmare come true. Perhaps it was a nightmare come true, that would explain most of it. Being stuck in unfamiliar territory, being turned into a human, having all his gadgets gone....it was hell. And on top of that, he had no way to contact the almighty tallest! He kicked the ground in anger and swore to himself in Irken. He approached an area full of shops, and staring at the lit-up windows, he pressed his face against the glass of one. Flowers. Next door was a bakery. He clicked his tongue. None of those things seemed to bother him mu---AAA! He jumped, seeing a puddle near the shop window. Apparently they'd watered....and he'd stepped right into it!
....
Why wasn't it burning? Certainly it would seer and burn and tear at his skin. That was what it always did. Especially now since he had no armor of paste to protect against it. It was supposed to hurt.....WHY WASN'T IT HURTING?! He stomped into it again. Nothing. A slight coldness, sure, but nothing otherwise. How...unnatural. He made a mental note of this - this must be a unique sort of water. Something wildly different. Something unnatural. He also noted to come back later and collect a sample. This must be tested further. Perhaps GIR would be intere---oh. Right. GIR wasn't here. He was alone. Wasn't that good? No one to fool with his plans, not even the Dib human was here!
At the same time, he felt something unfamiliar.
That feeling was loneliness.
