Appearance: Romano, like his brother is quite short, but has the volume of voice and overuse of hand gestures to make up for it. He would be described as quite handsome if his face had any expression other than grumpy or angry. He has tanned skin, thick dark hair with one curl that sticks out which if pulled…well…just don’t pull it. He often dressed in his uniform when he was still living with Spain, a uniform that was very similar to the Spaniards, but since leaving Spain he favours tailored suits and the odd fedora every now and then. Is incapable of speaking without the use of his hands.
Personality: Is a bit d***ish since he stayed with Spain so long but he was like that long before he went to live with Spain. He resents his younger brother for his talents in art and for looking more like their grandfather. He believes that everyone loves Feliciano over him and that anyone that does take an
interest in him is only after their Grandfather’s inheritance. He does care about his brother, deep, deep down, and resents the friendship that has sprung up between him and Germany. His default
setting is grumpy and likes to call people ‘stupido’ and ‘idiot’ most of the time, especially Spain. Even though he was lazy when he was younger he is a much harder worker now if a little pushed around
by the mafia. Despite calling him names and making his life a misery he does care for Spain and is grateful for the care that the older nation provided for him. In recent times he hasn’t seen him so much
but when he hears that Spain isn’t doing so good he runs to his aid, even standing up to the mafia that he is kind of afraid of. He is often very sweet and polite to females, if a little shy, but stand
offish and horrible to men. He is as much of a coward as his brother is but tries to act tough.

Key Moment
History: Romano is one of the two grandsons of the great Roman Empire. However when they were younger his little brother was taken away by their grandfather and Romano was left on his own. Being
left alone at such a young caused the young Romano to become bitter and cynical, so that when his brother returned he wanted nothing to do with them. Soon after that their grandfather fell and disappeared
from existence. In the following years Romano and his brother were subjected to bullying from all the other nations around them. Austria came out as the victor and claimed both of
the brothers, however soon after that he offered Romano to Spain who was delighted about this fact for a small time before he realised how lazy, grumpy and clumsy Romano was. They did not get off to a very
good start as whenever Spain tried to get the young Italian to do some work he would either flat out refuse or end up breaking something, or making more mess. One time when Spain left to ask
Austria to swap the brothers on his return he thought Romano was upset because he knew that’s what the older nation had been doing. Really it was because he couldn’t find the bathroom.
Romano attempted to run away home at one point but Spain followed him, bumping into France who seemed determined to claim the young nation for a new French Territory. Unaware of this
Romano only saw Spain following him and grew angry, running away and running right into trouble with the Ottoman Empire. However Spain ran to his rescue despite being no where near strong enough to defeat the
Ottoman Empire, and saved him. From that moment on Spain worked hard to protect Romano from both France and the Ottoman Empire, costing him a lot of money and a lot of berating from his bosses. Romano
overheard this and from then on attempted to be a little nicer to Spain, realising that the older nation really did care about him, even going so far to try and protect him when he thought the Germans
were attacking. He spent a lot of time with Spain over the years
until eventually he was forced to leave and return to his own lands. He still did not reconnect with his brother however the mafia spent a lot of time pushing him about during that time. Even when he did make
peace with his brother the mafia still controls a lot of what goes on in his country.
Key Moment: Romano had just heard that Spain was going through some difficult times and was about to get his things together to go and visit the older nation when he suddenly disappeared.

RP Sample: “Don’t hurt me!” said Romano, crouching to the floor and throwing his arms over his head, “if you hurt me then you will suffer! I know people, people who will be looking for me! You don’t know who you’re messing with Stupido’s!”
He chanced a look up and saw that the man was smiling down at him, that didn’t do much to calm his nerves or make him any happier.
One minute he had been in his house packing his things, the next he was in the middle of a restaurant and being converged on by man in coats. He had been in enough restaurants to
know that the minute people turned on you things were going to get messy. Hence the reason he was now under the table.
“If you just come out, we’ll explain everything,” said the man.
“I don’t a think so idiot! I’m not stupid! I know what ‘explain’ means,” he shouted out.
“We mean you no harm,” said a sweeter voice.
Once again he decided to risk it and looked out from under the table to see the smiling face of a beautiful young woman. The man was still there, but had backed off somewhat. The woman held out a hand to him.
“Please,” she asked again.
Romano grinned and took the hand, standing up he said, “anything for a bella signora-“
Before he could finish his flirting something was plunged into his arm. He looked round to his left and saw the man removing the syringe from his arm. “Bas-“ he managed to say before flopping to the ground.
