Shock was standing near in the center of the mall in front of a cluster of very large, artificial potted fern plants. To the left of her was a very large festive display that spanned most of the clearing, filled with soft blankets of fake snow, heavily decorated pines, wrapped boxes, and last but not least; a magnificently large throne that could easily seat three people at once.
The pale, dark-haired girl looked over at the throne from where she stood and narrowed her eyes suspiciously. She guessed that it was for the king of this place, much like how Jack Skellington was the King of Halloween Town; a throne for him to rule over his subjects. Yes, she could see a line of people already gathering by the foot of throne, trailing all the way through the mall. How weird it was to see that most, if not all of them, were small children. What happened to all of the adults? What would the king want with children? Did he want them as slaves, maybe? Or was he a monster who ate them? Anything seemed possible, since in Halloween Town, the king was always the scariest monster of them all.
She pondered this for a bit until a chirping, high-pitched voice made her turn her head. A very small girl was yelling and pulling at the sleeve of a woman as they made their way towards the line; “Santa Claus! I want to see Santa Claus! Mommy, please!”
“Sandy Claws?!” Shock blinked and gaped in surprise after the girl had passed. Sandy Claws, here?! But she had thought Lock, Barrel and her had just captured him! Ugh- she should’ve known! The minute she had come to this place, they probably were too stupid to keep him tied up, and let him free! So much for cohorts! The girl scowled and rolled her eyes as she eyed the empty throne with inward resentment. She could fix this. All she needed to do was kidnap the Sandy Claws… again. After that, she had a few ideas on how she could persuade the citizens to bring her to her door again and send her home. It would all work out just perfectly!
Smirking, the girl made her way over to the front of the line and pushed several whining children in order to make her place. Now she just had to wait for Sandy Claws and his minions to come out.
