Gaston made his way through the busy people carrying bags and lingering around stores as he headed through the mall. He was aiming to purchase himself a new pair of sportsman hunting boots from the sporting center and also scout out for any sign of hunting gear and weapons. This place had many forms of entertainment that he had never seen before, but it didn’t have much talk of hunting. He knew of the forest bordering the town, but without weapons he would surely have a hard time showing off his abilities as a huntsman.
The tall man stomped past store to store. He knew a sporting store was supposed to be here somewhere. What town didn’t have a need for hunting? This mall was just too confusing to navigate around. Every shop, every person and every direction looked the same.
Suddenly though, he heard steps clomping right behind him, followed by what sounded like an odd growling and screeching. Gaston turned to look behind him. There wasn’t anything there; just a small boy in a hat. Convinced that he might of just been hearing the roar of conversations echoing off the walls of the mall, Gaston ignored him and continued forward in search of his store. But then… there came the growling again, and this time the small boy was running around him in circles, wildly screeching and growling as he stared up at Gaston and bared his teeth in some sort of monster imitation. The boy never ceased to stop, even when Gaston paused in his tracks.
“What sort of boy is this? A maddened beast in disguise?!” Gaston looked skeptical and taken off guard. He was sure he had never seen a young boy run around his village acting like a monster. A brave hunter like Gaston maybe, but not a monster. Monsters were the enemy, and the hunted. What was worse was that there was no woman around who might presumably be his mother that he could see. Where had the strange beast-boy come from?
"RAWR. GRAWL. RRRR. GRRR." The boy was punching the side of Gaston's arm with his small hands and then quickly darting to the other side of the man to growl and screech some more. "I'm A VELOCIRAPTOR! A VELOCIRAPTOR! Grrr RRR grr grawr!"
