Zuko hated markets, so why would malls be any different? It was true that he didn't look like someone who should be shopping there, nor did her particularly care about shopping. That was something his Uncle had always enjoyed, and Zuko had been dragged along for the embarrassment.
This time, however, he had actually needed to buy something. Yes, the Prince of the Fire Nation had come to discover the joy that was seasons changing, and how one month it could be perfectly warm and now, well, it was snowing and freezing cold in the exact same place. It is not to say he hadn't experienced it before; he had, and he certainly knew about how cold it could be from traveling to both the Southern and the Northern Water Tribes, but here he was unprepared. He had been left only with the light clothing he had worn as a refugee in the Earth Kingdom, along with a few other outfits designed for warm-weather he had received when arriving. It was safe to say that he needed a warmer set of clothes if he was going to be kept in Tenebrae any longer.
Zuko rolled his eyes impatiently as he waited for the elevator to open. He had read the map, and knew that most of the clothes he was seeking were in shops on the second floor. There was a crowd of people already gathering around and beside him to ride the next one up as well.
The arrow lit up and rang with a chiming sound as the doors slid open and everyone began filing inside. Zuko ended up stuck near the back, squished in between several people. Grrr, just his luck! Why did everyone decide that they needed to go in the exact same time? As if they could all fit in this contraption!
He waited as the elevator closed its doors and began to move up. The sooner he could get off this cramped ride, the better. Suddenly though, an odd grinding sound began, and the elevator stopped with a jolt. People began mashing buttons, but the doors wouldn't open. Oh no… they couldn't seriously be stuck in this thing?! This was living torture.
"Would you get your hand out of my face?!" Zuko snapped at the person beside him, who apparently seemed to think that now was a good time to start waving them wildly. He couldn't tell what they were trying to do, but everyone was too close to his personal space, and he needed a LOT of personal space.
