The Outside and the In
Face Claim/PB
Andy Gillet
Appearance: Counted as one of the tallest countries, he has a rather slim figure and long luxurious blonde hair, that looks wonderfully windswept. He looks good and he knows it. He lounges, he swaggers, he is the epitome of sophistication and class. His clothes are always the latest fashions and nothing else...that is...if he's wearing any clothes at all. Everything about him is designed to charm you. An ever present smirk is usually on his face, especially around such nations as England, but he is prone to actually looking happy, if in the company of his two best friends (Spain and Prussia) or his darling little boy...uh...that one...with the hair...and the glasses...merde, I remembered his name a moment ago...Candadia! That's the one, Canadia.
Personality: On the surface it appears that France is only content when he's chasing after someone under the guise of 'Love'. However underneath that there is a genuine country that believes in Romance. Oh he's all for a tumble around in the bedroom, nothing like passion and a good time, but he's a romantic at heart and the romance he plays on when 'wooing' isn't too much of an act, he really does believe his own words. Just a little bit of a coward when it comes to certain things, he would rather watch from the sidelines and make sarcastic comments than actually get involved. He's a meddler and will stop at nothing to take down his most annoying rival, England. He is the only person that can truly enrage him and once he gets going he really gets going, laying into the smaller nation whenever he can. He holds a great adoration and love of Matthew (Canada) since the now big nation used to be his own little colony, although he worries sometimes that like the other nations he too might forget his own 'son'. Italy and America are another couple of favourites of his, little brothers that he helps out when he can ('allo new French territory). Prussia and Spain...they are his best friends, and they get into the most ridiculous kinds of trouble for nations who are a bit older.

Right Up to that Key Moment
History:
France isn't quite sure when he came into being but one of the earliest memories he has is of running around the countryside terrorising the little nation of England whilst under the watchful gaze of Grandpa Rome. He managed to pull many tricks on the grumpy little nation, making him wear a dress, making him grow his hair and then cutting it back to it's normal state. Thus began the start of their age old feud with each other. Although what England is unaware of is other factors leading to that. During this time France had a rather good relationship with Scotland, however after the passing of Britannia Scotland decided to spend more time looking after the little nation he had been separated from during the Roman Empire. France did not appreciate this lack of attention and blamed it all entirely on little England, who was really just asking for it anyway.
After the fall of the Roman Empire however, everyone was fighting over Rome's two little grandsons, including France. Unfortunately Austria won, much to the disappointment of France who had grown quite fond of Italy Veneziano. However the opportunity to claim the other Italy appeared one day when he was out for a stroll and he would have done if not for Spain whom apparently already had a claim on Romano. They fought for a long time, France with the aid of Switzerland, however it was not enough and Spain was to keep Romano (however on meeting the little S*** at a later date he was actually kind of pleased he lost that one).
There have been many important figures throughout Frances history that he has come to care for but none are held in as high esteem as Joan of Arc. He loved her more than anything and to this day still mourns the loss of her. He will not hear a word against her and will quite happily cut down anyone that says anything bad about her.
Throughout all of this he was forever engaging England in whatever battle was going at the time, almost always taking the opposite side to him just so he could get in a few shots at him. When England sided with Austria during the Austrian wars of Succession, England was there to support his friend Prussia, along with their other mutual friend (who had clearly forgiven him for the whole 'I want Romano' thing)Spain.
As he and England were exploring the New World the happened across Finland who told them of another little nation he had seen running around. This would turn out to be America, whom once again England and France took to the battlefield to claim. Unfortunately in this case England was successful, however just as he was about to leave the New World empty handed he nearly tripped over something. This something turned out to be Canada, whom he instantly snatched up and claimed as his French Territory. It appeared to most that France was merely claiming whatever he could, but he really did care for the little nation that was now his colony. He tried to provide him with everything he needed and grew exceptionally angry whenever England decided to stick his big nose in.
During this time France also took to pirating and privateers just as his rival England did, and his friend Spain. Although he was not nearly as outdone by Pirate England as Spain was he still had his fare share of Battle wounds that ensured that he actually managed to dredge up some respect for the nation and his prowess.
However it didn't last for long as France began to sense the tension between England and America. Seeing his chance (and seeing that England was being a general busy body when it came to Canada) France did everything he could to help out America, he sent uniforms, he sent guns, anything he could to help them defeat England, to the point of almost bankrupting himself (true story) which in turn became one of the main reasons for the revolution.
The years that followed were not happy ones for France, as he felt himself being ripped apart by the people of his country. During this time he lost a lot of things, including Matthew, which devastated him and only caused even more chaos within him. Eventually things began to work themselves out, that was until the start of WW1 where he found himself allied with an unlikely group of people. United with his old rival he fought the Axis, and again during WW2. Nowadays most of his barbs with England are traded over a table rather than a battlefield and whilst he may not have as much influence as he did over Matthew, he still ensures the (not so) little nation gets everything he needs.
Key Moment: France was currently at one of the world meetings trying to convince the countries gathered that finding Canada was their main priority. However he first of all had to keep reminding most of them who Canada was, and what didn't help was the fact that England kept going on about the missing Cheeseburger Nation and Sweden looming over everyone until he got his 'wife' back.

“...and another thing you Catapiller eyebrowed idiot,” said France pointing in the general direction of the stupid English pig dog, when, on opening his eyes he realised he was no longer in the World meeting room.
Instead he was standing in the middle of a rather nice street, pointing at a pleasant looking young man holding a clipboard. France decided to stop pointing and try to evaluate his new situation as calmly as possible.
“Hello, welcome to Trenebrae Estates-”
“Did he do this? he did this didn't he!?”
“...sir, it's quite alright, you have simply been shifted-”
“Shifted! Shifted!? Iz that what he iz calling it. What was it this time, Busby's chair again? I didn't even sit down!” said Franics angrily before looking up at the sky and shouting, “How dare you use your magics on me you...Vous laid petit lapin!!”
“Well I see your memory is in working order. Sir, please, if you come with me I can explain everything,” said the pleasant young man.
“I am going to kill him when I get back to that meeting,” said Francis.
“Oh I'm afraid that won't be possible sir,” said the young man.
“Oh don't think I can take him do you?” said Francis walking towards the young man.
“Oh it's not that sir, none of the Shifted can return, now may I take your name,” said the man, getting the pen ready, poised to write it down.
“...Franics, Francis Bonnefoy, and what do you mean I can't go back?”
“Ah Mr Bonnefoy, I believe we already have your son,” said the young man before the tall blonde was leaning over him and grabbing his shirt.
“What did you say,” he said in what was almost a growl.
