The Outside and the In
Face Claim/PB: John DeVito
Appearance:
For his age at least, Gary looks to be pretty mature. He stands at 5'4", with an overall average physique. Though not particularly strong, Gary gets enough exercise to keep himself in shape. His spikey reddish-brown hair seems to stick up regardless of the usage of hair gel, with the exception of when it gets wet. His eyes look like they don't have irises from a distance, though on closer inspection one could see that his irises are actually grey, and somewhat blends in with his pupils. Gary's normal clothing is a purple long sleeved t-shirt, blue jeans, and tan boots, though he'll wear pretty much anything that's comfortable. Hidden underneath his shirt is a belt that has Pokeballs strapped to it, though unfortunately for Gary they don't really have much of a use in this world. No matter what he wears, he pretty much always wears his yellow and green yin/yang necklace around his neck. Gary tends to walk with a bit of swagger in his stride, as if he owns the town and everyone in it. He doesn't even need to open his mouth for someone to realize that he's pretty much oozing confidence 24/7. You'll almost always see a cocky looking grin plastered on his face, though if things get serious, Gary's mood will generally change to reflect the situation (you know, like any normal human being).
Personality:
For a ten year old kid, Gary thinks pretty highly of himself compared to most people. There's always an aura of arrogance and cockiness around him, and Gary is always sure to make it clear how he's the best around. Even if someone tries to prove him wrong, Gary will likely just shrug it off if they succeed, either by thinking it was a fluke/that it was a one time thing, or just by ignoring it altogether. He also tends to be pretty fearless, sometimes too much for his own good. However, even if he hates backing down he isn't dumb enough to charge straight into certain death (or whatever else that he'd get himself into). In fact, Gary is actually pretty clever (at least for a ten year old). He always manages to find a way to weasel his way out of any dangerous situation unscathed, making seem almost as untouchable as he claims he is.
Gary's a lot calmer around close friends (or at least less likely to try to prove how superior he is everything), and is even willing to stick up for them. He is a big fan of friendly competition, and will accept almost any non-life risking challenge thrown at him. Gary also has an affinity for Pokemon, but since none exist in this world he'd use animals as a substitute. Being the grandson of a Pokemon Professor and being a Pokemon Trainer himself has taught him a lot about taking care of living things, Pokemon or otherwise. Gary is also a lady's man (or least as much as one a ten year old could be). It's pretty likely he'd hit on any girl he thinks looks beautiful, regardless of age. On the other hand, he's likely to make rivals out of any male he doesn't like, especially one that's about his age.

Right Up to that Key Moment
History:
Gary pretty much remembers the entirity of his past, but some details about what happened just before he shifted are a bit hazy to him.
Gary Oak was born in the town of Pallet in Kanto. For as long as he could remember, he always wanted to become a Professor like his grandfather Prof. Oak, and also become the greatest trainer in the world. He also quickly formed a rivalry with a kid of the same age named Ash, who wished to become a trainer like him. Of course, Gary dismissed Ash as being a hopeless cause who wouldn't be able to train a rock to stay still. When Gary reached the age of ten, he finally got his first Pokemon, which was an Eevee. He and Eevee soon formed a close bond and Gary traveled across Kanto, catching several more Pokemon and earning all ten out of eight badges in Kanto (because getting only eight out of eight badges is for scrubs).
Eventually Gary left Kanto and began adventuring in other regions, his Eevee having now evolved into an Umbreon. He caught and trained many Pokemon during this time, but Umbreon was the only Pokemon he always kept around. Every day Gary is one step closer to becoming the best trainer ever, no doubt in his mind he'll get there before that loser Ash Ketchum does.
Key Moment:
One day while in Sinnoh, Gary was contacted by his grandfather Prof. Oak to help him with his research by exploring the nearby Solaceon Ruins, an ancient ruin that was just outside of Solaceon Town, a small farming town in Sinnoh. When Gary went to explore it however, he was attacked by several Pokemon known as Unknown. As they circled around him, Gary could see a bright light appearing around him. It was at that point that Gary was shifted. At that time, Gary only had his Umbreon with him.

"Ow...what the heck happened?" Gary Oak quickly stood up and tried to look around, but almost fell back down when he realized he was feeling pretty weak. Like a video tape on rewind, Gary went through his mind to try to remember what led to him lying on the ground. He remembered...agreeing to do something for "Gramps", as Gary liked to call his grandfather. But what was it?
Gary shook his head in sighed. He couldn't remember. Unable to figure out what lead to this, Gary instead surveyed his surroundings. From the looks of it, he was in the middle of a large park. Skyscrapers stood off in the hoizon, obviously not too far from where he was. For whatever reason, the place reminded Gary of Saffron City back in Kanto.
Gary began to feel something was off as well (other than him waking up in a park with no memory as to how he got there). He felt...different. He couldn't put his finger on it, but something about him felt abnormal, as if he was out of place. Just then, Gary then suddenly remembered about Umbreon. He remembered he had Umbreon with him; perhaps some thugs knocked him upside the head, stole Umbreon, and dumped him in this park? Gary checked his belt, seeing that his Pokeballs were still there. Gary took Umbreon's ball from the belt and threw it. The ball flew ahead a couple feet, before crashing into a tree.
"Umbreon...!?" Gary couldn't believe it. How could he, Gary Oak, be mugged by simple Pokenappers? Just as Gary was about to run off to find the bastards that stole his Pokemon, two men in black suits approched him.
"You! You're the guys who took Umbreon, aren't you?!" Gary was genuinely mad at this point, and also frustrated.
"Umbreon? Sir, we don't know what you're talking about," the man on the left said.
"However, we're going to have to ask you to come with us," the other one said.
Gary really wasn't in the mood for this. His Umbreon was missing, and these two losers we're trying to get in his way! "No way! I have to find Umbreon!"
"Sir, this isn't the place you came from."
"Huh?" Gary assumed he meant that he wasn't originally in this park before he was knocked out, but still the guy stating that seemingly for no reason puzzled him.
"This is a different place than where you were. If you come with us though, we'll help you find your way back."
Gary was even more confused than before. Still, from the looks of it these guys were offering to help him, so why refuse? "Alright, but you better help me find Umbreon."
"I'm sure he'll be found," the man on the left said assuringly.
"But for now, you need to come with us," the right man repeated.
