Appearance:
The blonde-haired, blue-eyed Mr. Jones stands at a happy 5’10.” He is almost permanently wearing a smile, and he walks with a slight swagger, suggesting a belief that he owns everything the light touches. He ordinarily likes to wear a bomber jacket and has been recognized for his tendency to always be carrying food, primarily hamburgers and cola. However, since he’s come to Tenebrae he’s found the bomber jacket to be a bit warm in the summer months, so he usually sticks to well, whatever’s in his closet. He really likes wearing red and blue, though—he thinks it brings out his eyes—and he likes dress shirts worn casually. He wears glasses and finger-combs his long blonde hair to keep it out of his face, which doesn’t manage to slick back that one stupid cowlick. When sighted from a long distance, he can be identified from the way that he tends to barrel along from one location to the next. On the rare occasion that he isn’t smiling hugely, Alfred has been known to give huge puppy eyes and, every once in a blue moon, to actually wear a serious expression. Most of the time, though, he parades around like the best thing on two legs.
Personality:
Alfred is cocky and impulsive, and he fully believes that he is one of the most important people in the world—after all, he’s the most important person in his part of the world, and his part of the world is the only part of the world! He’s also strong—not as strong as he once was, but stronger than you would normally expect someone of his size and musculature to be. He doesn’t really understand geography, and he has trouble in social situations since he tends to not pay much attention to other people’s opinions or feelings. That doesn’t mean, though, that he’s not capable of reading social situations, since he is perfectly capable of manipulating people to get what he wants.
Above all, though, Alfred believes in life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. He wants freedom for all people and equality for all. And while he knows that it hasn’t exactly been present in the world, it’s always been his ideal. He does have a serious side, even if he rarely shows it, and it believes in the power of heroism to always save the day.
He likes all forms of competition, especially sports. He enjoys all types of games and adventures, and he likes (and is surprisingly good at) making movies. He likes food, especially junk food, and eats almost constantly, though his sense of taste is rather questionable. He does, though, have an actual fear of marmite.

Right Up to that Key Moment
History:
Alfred doesn’t actually remember any of his history, but he’s got rather a lot of it. He was actually first discovered by Finland, who went back and told some of his friends about the new country out west. Then Sweden and Finland fought over America, only to be beaten by Holland. In the end, though, England and France made the largest claims on the small country, both claiming to be America’s older brother. England won out and took America under his wing, beginning their strange relationship.
In 1776, America split from England, upset over being treated, as he saw it, unfairly. The next century was pretty turbulent for America, involving a few extra wars with England and a civil war that almost destroyed poor Alfred. By the time of the first world war, though, America had a pretty solid place in world affairs, having a strong economy and a lot of room for growth. After World War II, America was on top of the world, and he knew it. Since then, he has dominated world politics and gone around acting like a big hero, swooping in to save the day for countries around the world. He made friends with England again, gets along with France, and even made friends with his old enemies Germany and Japan, the latter of whom turned out to share America’s love of video games. Sure relationships might be strained here and there, but all in all, he’s on top of the world and living it up with his friends.
Key Moment:
Having just gotten a new idea for this year’s Christmas, America decided to check up on his friend France. He trekked over to knock on France’s door, traipsing up the walk to say hello.

A Roleplaying Shift
RP Sample:
He hardly noticed the shift. He was walking up toward a door, and when he got there, he knocked on it and bounced up on his toes. When the door opened, he smiled and waved. “Hello!” he said. “I—”
That was when it sunk in. He didn’t know who he was. He didn’t know why he was here. He didn’t know who he was talking to. He smiled again. “I’m sorry, whose house is this? I seem to have lost my memory. Maybe I got hit on the head. Do you have many falling objects around here?”
The man at the doorway simply stared at him for a moment. Then, another man approached from behind and gave a low cough. “Excuse me, sir. I’d like to ask you to come with me please.”
Spinning around and still smiling, he waved. “Hello there! Sure, I can come with me. Would you like to tell me who I am, and maybe who you are?”
The man smiled. “I work with Tenebrae Estates, and I’d like to bring you there. It’s all right if you don’t remember much about yourself. You may have gone through some trauma. Do you have any name that you would like us to call you?”
Scanning back in his memory, he said, “Alfred. Alfred F. Jones, but I don’t remember what the F stands for. You can call me, uh, Alfred.” He grinned again. “It’s nice to meet you. Where did you say we were going again?”
“Tenebrae Estates. Please, come this way, sir.”
Alfred merrily followed the man down towards the waiting car, excited to see where this new adventure would take him.
