The Outside and the In
Face Claim/PB: David Tennant
Appearance:
The faces of Megamind.
Megamind’s original appearance is literally out of this world (guy’s an alien after all). Blue skin, green eyes. Large bald head. Thin yet muscular build. The outfit of choice his leather and spandex hero suit with high collared cape. Spikes are a plus. His main disguise cast by his holowatch was that of museum curator Bernard. Normal human features. Same brilliant green eyes. Brown somewhat ruffled hair. Wore glasses and a rather mundane blue sweater, brown suit combo. Great for blending in with a crowd.
Bernard Megs:
Shifted appearance. Due to a malfunction in the holowatch during the shift Megamind took on an appearance similar to the Bernard disguise. (Lucky for him he did not shift into the form of his Space-Dad disguise.) Normal skin tone instead of blue. Brown hair and green eyes. He wears glasses just as an accessory, he does not need them to see. He usually dresses in a suit like ensemble though he may throw on something a little different from time to time.
Personality: A super genius with a taste for rock music and theatrics. It’s all about presentation! He loves the excitement of competition. Fighting a worthy adversary, exchanging witty banter in the heat of battle. As a hero he will never turn away from someone in need and is not quick to give up. Even if it seems that there is little to no chance of success, even if he gets knocked down countless times, he will get back up and keep fighting. Even in his Super villain days he did not like causing anyone permanent harm or death. Killing his opponent Metro Man in battle was not something he really wanted to do (turned out Metro Man actually faked his death so that was a relief).
He loves science, robotics, inventing devices that can do whatever his mind happens to think up at the moment. It is easy for him to become lost in his work, sometimes forgetting to sleep or even eat when he’s really in the zone. Diving into his work can also be used as an escape when he becomes upset. Despite his intellect he has an odd habit of mispronouncing some words. Such as referring to school as shool, melancholy as mellan-coaly, and often says ollo instead of hello.
His emotions can be easily read in his facial features and eyes. Whether excited, mad, depressed, or nervous. Due to being ostracized in the past he is awkward in some social situations, situations he simply has not had experience with. He is still getting used to positive physical contact and it takes him a bit to really trust someone. He is use to having Minion or the brainbots around to do menial chores such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, etc. So having to do these things on his own could take some getting used to.
Oh and the guys got some awesome dance moves.

Right Up to that Key Moment
History:
When his home planet fell victim to a black hole the infant Megamind was placed into an escape pod and shot off into space along with his trusty best friend Minion (a fish like being who lives in a water filled glass sphere). Another infant from a neighboring planet (Metro Man) was sent on the same course. Both landed on Earth in the booming metropolis of Metro City. Metro Man fell into a life of luxury and became a Superhero loved by the City. Things did not go so well for Megamind. He landed within the confines of a prison, grew up in a cell shunned by the citizens on the outside. Life was lonely for Megamind, he spent his childhood nights drawing up countless ideas for new inventions. Trusty Minion was his only true companion. Sometimes it seemed as though it was just him and Minion against the world.
Eventually he was allowed to leave the prison to attend a nearby school but due to his unusual appearance fitting in wasn’t really an option. He was picked on by Metro Man and his classmates. No matter how hard he tried he was always the odd man out, the last one picked for everything. He tried so many times to win the others over, to find a way to fit in. But every attempt seemed to fail, seemed to end in punishment. Metro Man would receive all the praise and gold stars while the blue skinned alien was sent to stand alone in the corner. Bad seemed to be the only thing he was good at, bad seemed to be what everyone expected him to be. So Megamind came to the conclusion that he was destined to be a the greatest Super villain of all time.
For many years they would do battle, the next more exuberant than the last. Metro Man would always win and send Megamind back to prison. When Megamind got bored he would plot a daring escape and new fiendish plot against Metro Man, often using local news reporter Roxanne Ritchi as a hostage.
Things began to change when Metro Man grew tired of being a Superhero, faked his death and left Metro City in the clutches of the evil Megamind. After achieving what every Super villain strived for Megamind should have been happy but instead found himself feeling mellan-coaly. He realized that without a hero to challenge everything was pointless. His growing feelings for Roxanne Ritchi also made him question his true destiny and what he really wanted. Did he really want to be the bad guy? Bad guys don’t get the girl.
He decided the best plan of action was to create a new Superhero. A new rival to challenge him, take him down, send him back to prison. Put things back the way they were before. This plan backfired when his creation Titan turned evil and began destroying Metro City. Megamind finally realized that perhaps he was not destined to be evil after all. He stepped up into the role of hero himself, taking down Titan and becoming the new defender of Metro City.
The blue Ex-villain had quite a workload ahead of him. Overseeing the brainbots as they repaired the badly damaged City. Attending the Grand opening of the Megamind Museum. Countless interviews from people who wanted to know anything and everything about the new hero. All the positive attention defiantly took some getting used to. Roxanne’s company helped a great deal. When he wasn’t busy helping those in need he was working in the lair/lab. This is what he was doing the day he was shifted, sent to a very strange place. Would he be able to put the pieces together and find a way back home? Or will the memories of Metro City, of his true form, slip away? Would he want to go back at all? Would he give up the chance to truly be human?
Key Moment: Megamind’s super sized brain was always buzzing with ideas. Here he was in the (now not so evil) lair. Dark goggles shielded his eyes from the sparks of a blowtorch while he welded the last piece of control panel into place. A brainbot floated overhead, something clamped within its metallic jaws. It let out its buzzing electronic -Arf!- Trying to get Daddy’s attention.
He dismissed the sound. He was far too busy and the bot should know better than to interrupt Daddy when he was this involved with a project. This was going to be the best creation yet. A teleporter! Why had he not thought about making one sooner? He had seen teleportation depicted on TV several times but it had never crossed his mind to actually bring such a thing into the real world. The science behind it was really quite simple, well to him anyway.

A Roleplaying Shift
RP Sample: -Arf! Arf!- Megamind waved one blue hand up in the air. “Not now Daddy's busy!“ He spoke with a mild annoyance. -Arf! Arf!- Sigh. With a roll of the eyes Megamind flicked off the torch and lifted his goggles. When he first looked up he thought perhaps the brainbot had brought a wrench. Oh those brainbots loved it when he tossed the wrench. But…wait a minute. His green eyes narrowed. That was not a wrench. “The holowatch!” The torch dropped to the ground Megamind reached up to grab the watchband. “No! Give! What did Daddy say about playing with that! Bad brainbot! Bad!” He yanked back as hard he could. The brainbot let out a final bark its jaws opening just enough for the watch to slip free.
Megamind stumbled back hitting the teleporter control panel with some force. What happened next became a bit of a blur. He remembered sparks and searing white light. Then, falling! How could he be falling? He braced himself for an impact but one never came. Instead there was a gentle breeze on his face. He carefully opened one green eye, blinked, and opened the other. Outside? He was sitting outside but things looked…odd. He lifted a hand surprised to see blue skin replaced by a more human tone. “Hmm. Seems the Bernard disguise has been activated but something’s not right.” He tried fiddling with the watch but any special technologies built into it had apparently ceased to exist. In his hand was nothing but an ordinary time piece.
“Surprised to see you here. We were not expecting you so soon.” An unfamiliar voice caught his attention Megamind looked up to see a man dressed in a black suit. “Didn’t realize I was being expected.” Megamind retorted pushing himself up to his feet and dusting off the brown suit that he was now wearing. “Not even sure where here is for that matter.” Come to think of it where had he been? He racked his brain trying to pull up the fuzzy memory. The lair. That’s it! He had been in the lair working on…
“Well don’t worry. Here take this.” The man interrupted his train of thought and handed him an envelope, a name printed across the front. “Bernard Megs?” Megamind raised a curious eyebrow. “Yes we took the liberty of giving you that name.” Megamind stood there for a moment staring at the name. “Ooookay. This isn’t creepy.“ He looked back up and noticed the stranger about to get into a black car. He took a few quick steps towards the vehicle and called out. “Hey wait! So that’s it?”
The man paused and offered a friendly smile. “Just relax and enjoy your stay Mr. Megs.” With that the black clad stranger slipped into the car, pulling away before Megamind could ask any further questions. He rubbed his now normal sized forehead with a sigh. “I’m unconscious. That’s it. I hit my giant blue head. Oh and when I wake up I’m going to dismantle one naughty brainbot. Wait…what‘s a brainbot?” That was odd. It felt like he knew but it just kind of slipped.
