The Outside and the In
Face Claim:
Kim Jaejoong -- JYJ
He isn't the same falcon he once was. No, he's a full, flesh and blood human, something he rather despises. Standing at five feet and eleven inches, he is not the short little Asian some people might have expected him to turn out to be. He was only about twenty inches tall in his original form, so the height difference is rather strange for the bird. He has a definite lack of wings, talons, beak, and feathers, but his nails seem to stay slightly longer and sharper than usual. His eyes are really the only thing similar to his original form with the whites of the eyes being more a pale red than anything else and his pupils, though hard to see against his irises, are slits. Other than the eyes, he has retained his incredible speed and flexibility, along with his heightened sense of sight, especially at night, and hearing. He also tends to screech a lot, not really used to the art of speech. Dark pupils, black (technically brown in the sunlight) hair, and naturally tan skin, Hayabusa looks like any other man of Asian descent to those who don't know him.Personality:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Hayabusa is a very hard sakret to crack. A mysterious bird, he's prone to sticking close to those he trusts, namely those who have earned his loyalty. He doesn't wander far from home unless told to do so otherwise, and he carries out his jobs to a T. Failure is not an option for him, and he'll do anything in his power to fulfill his orders. To him, loyalty is a must. He doesn't go against his word, unless it's to someone he's just met or doesn't like, and he's is known to screeching when someone doesn't follow through with what they said. A few scratches here and there and going half deaf should teach them a lesson.
Hayabusa is a bird who keeps a serious face on at all times. He doesn't like showing his inner emotions as it isn't very wise of a Hun. The sakret has been called dark and cold on various occasions, be it from his overall attitude towards a variety of things or by his actions. He isn't afraid of acting out against something that goes against his own morals, and some people might have just been frightened to see him easily scale a tree in pursuit of a squirrel.
Right Up to that Key Moment
History:
Hayabusa is no bird brain when it comes to remembering his past. He remembers everything, from the momentary cold he felt within his shell to the warmth that overtook him as soon as someone's hands enclosed around his egg. When he hatched, there wasn't a mother falcon to instantly warm him, shield him from the cold, and feed him. No, he only had Shan Yu. The Hun was his savior of sorts, and he knew as soon as he matured that he would forever be indebted to Shan Yu. His younger years were spent being close to his master, keeping warm and well fed until his flight feathers started to grow in.
When he was old enough, the man taught him how to fly. The overall ordeal was very long and painstaking as Hayabusa was far too used to being perched on the man's shoulder without having to rely on his wings. After a month of trial and error, he finally took to the sky, only to crash land into a nearby tree. He tried again and again without Shan Yu's help, hoping to make up for his mistake and that month wasted, and when Shan Yu next saw him, the falcon was soaring high in the sky, circling around the Huns.
From then on, he served as Shan Yu's eyes and ears from above. When he wasn't perched on the man's shoulders, he was up in the sky, scouting out the area. When the Huns started attacking China, Hayabusa was always there, screeching out a warning to those in the area. As the attacks grew more frequent, Hayabusa would make sure to get out of the way when the actual fighting began. He would only make an appearance when Shan Yu would signal for him, swooping down and grabbing at clumps of hair to distract warriors or picking up weapons with ease.
At the Forbidden City, Hayabusa was so close to seeing his master finally achieve his goal. The emperor was in their hands at last! But then those pesky warriors and their fire-breathing lizard came onto the scene. Hayabusa was quick to swoop in and listen to what they had planned, but before he could do anything... The world changed right before his eyes.
Key Moment: Mere moments before Mushu was about to scorch off his feathers after learning their plan to save the emperor.
He screeched in alarm, hopping backwards as the Forbidden City spun around him, shifting into some place he had never been too. Better yet, it was a time period he had never been to. Tall buildings towered above him, most reflecting the sky and clouds above. Large metal machines honked and beeped, echoing within his sensitive ears. People swarmed around him, many giving him strange looks as they walked past, some giggling and others shielding their eyes.
Where was he? This wasn't China. Most of these people were Caucasian. Where was Shan Yu? The emperor? What about the nuisances that were planning on foiling their plan once more? The falcon spread out his wings, ready to take off. Only... He couldn't. He jumped and jumped, even hopping onto a step and leaping off to see if that would help. Nothing worked. Wide eyes quickly searched his body, only to find that it wasn't his body. There were feet--human feet--bare to the skin with slightly sharper than usual nails. There were legs--human legs--bare as well.
Before he got any further up, a large piece of fabric, soft to the touch, was draped across his shoulders. Hayabusa let out a deafening screech, causing all those around him to cringe and some to mutter out foreign curses. Before checking to see who would do such a thing, the sakret quickly assessed the fabric draped across him. It was soft, fuzzy, and warm. No fur could have been this soft on both side. What was it? Regardless, he quickly covered himself in it, finally feeling the cool wind on his bare skin.
"Welcome, sir."
He let out another screech, despite how friendly the tone of the voice seemed. He whipped around, eyes narrowing at the two dressed in black before him. He took a few steps back, nails digging into the blanket around him. The two humans, one male and another female, simply smiled at him. It was clear that they didn't like the screeching like any other human, but they were dealing with it like they had to deal with it all their life. He would hate to have a job where he had to smile all the time like that.
"Don't worry, we aren't here to cause you any harm." The man offered. The woman then spoke up. "Do you have a name?"
Hayabusa took another step back. Did they expect him to speak? All he knew was how to screech... Could he speak? He was apparently human now... For the most part, at the very least. He opened his mouth, attempting to try and speak. A strangled noise came from his mouth, and he quickly covered it up by coughing into the blanket. No, he couldn't try human speech just yet. At least, not the English that these two were using. He could understand it, sure, but speaking it was a whole knew sky to fly in. How about a language he knew all too well? "W... Wǒ de m-míngzì shì... Hayabusa... (M... My n-name is... Hayabusa...)" Human speech was so weird. That was, honestly, all he really knew how to say. He wasn't a parrot or anything. What did they want him to do? It wasn't like they knew what his screeching meant.
The women seemed to frown, only understanding that the last part was his name. The man, however, seemed to have been taught the art of the Chinese language. He smiled, tilting his head to the side and holding out his hand to the falcon. "We'll need to get him into an English class as soon as possible." He murmured to the woman, continuing to smile at the sakret. They wanted him to go with them now, huh? He stared at the hand, internally debating what do to. He needed clothing, and he needed to get back to his master. Perhaps these two could help?
With a sigh in defeat, he reached out, taking the man's hand.
