Appearance: Mordecai has electric blue hair and stands at 6 foot 3 inches tall. He's often wearing rather messy looking clothes, dressing like a stereotypical poor slacker. He has dark brown eyes, almost black and glossy like that of a bird's. He has fairly pale skin in contrast to the dark blue hair and usually most of his clothing consists of blue items with the occasional black or white one thrown in there, usually to mimic the pattern of his feathers in the previous world. He's often seen with black rings around his fingers, again to mimic his past feather pattern.
Personality: Usually Mordecai is laid back and level headed, often even appearing apathetic towards others. Whereas really it's simply just his attitude, he rarely does any work and is usually seen slacking off from working at the park by heading to the coffee shop or playing video games at the arcade. He's also incredibly awkward around girls, usually spluttering out random works whereas his best friend Rigby was more of the ladies man. It's not to say Mordecai doesn't really like being around girls, he just hasn't got the best attitude around them due to spending more "bro time" with guys.
Mordecai is also an occasional pothead, something that's less likeable about his personality. It's often he's been stoned at work and had to cover his tracks from Benson by attempting to pretend to be doing his work. He has been shown to have a slight resentment from authority figures, considering his boss to be a total jerk but having to tolerate him as to not get fired. He's not the best at making friends, though. Mordecai usually ends up annoyed and angered by anyone he meets rather than enjoying their company, meaning he usually sticks to just chilling out with Rigby.
He's also somewhat of a party animal, enjoying getting drunk and hanging out with the few friends he has. Mostly it's just him and Rigby but they've been joined by a few co-workers in the past, showing that he's willing to broaden his friendships.

Right Up to that Key Moment
History:
Mordecai was born in Fresco, California to workaholic parents. In his past lifetime, he was a blue jay and while it would be strange for a 6'3" bird to be patrolling in this reality, it was common to his own one for animals and even inanimate objects were sentient beings. It was during his youth at school that he met a young raccoon named Rigby. While Mordecai was fairly bookish and smart in school, Rigby slacked off and skipped classes almost constantly, becoming a bad influence on the young bird. Mordecai soon followed suit, his own personality moulding to a somewhat apathetic slacker with a disdain for work. He soon dropped out of school in his teens with his friend, deciding that learning in a class wasn't nearly as good as learning from experience. Still, what experience that would gain from sitting at home playing video games and smoking pot was anybody's guess. It wasn't helped by the fact they were about to be kicked out of both their parent's houses and would have nowhere to go.
A few months later after couch surfing at random friends houses, Mordecai and Rigby stumbled upon Fresco Park whom needed two groundskeepers to live on the premises and work doing various chores around there. "Ooooooh! Free place!" the two said in unison as they walked up to the door, greeting the living gumball machine and lollipop, using what little savvy the two had to fake their way into a job by claiming they were far more hard working than they truly were. Benson the gumball machine didn't quite know what he got himself into by hiring these two, but to be honest he could have done with extra hands around the place. What he got instead were two moochers who acted like total inbeciles, smoked pot on company time and slacked off from any chore they were given.
Over the years, the two had gotten themselves in so many random adventures and destroyed the entire park on so many occasions that it wasn't even considered strange anymore. Benson would have fired them but he knew if he let them go they'd just make a problem for someone else, forcing him to keep them around to make sure they stay out of any trouble. Otherwise, if it wasn't a park they were working at it could be somewhere far more important that could probably even destroy the entire city.
Key Moment: During a simple day raking leaves, Mordecai noticed a random bright area on the ground. "I dare you to stand on it" Rigby had said to Mordecai, chuckling as he knew it would probably do something completely out of the ordinary to the man. "Challenge accepted, brosef" Mordecai stated, walking onto the bright area with nothing really happening "See, it's probably just pops effing around with a magnifying glass or something, it's not doing an-" Mordecai was cut off as he was suddenly warped away to a new world, looking around to find he'd been changed into a human.

A Roleplaying Shift
RP Sample:
"What the eff is this ess?" Mordecai said to himself, brushing off his body and noticing his feathers had vanished, leaving him as a naked, blue haired human. "What the hell? My D is showing and why am I a human?" he said in a rather annoyed tone, using a hand to cover his crotch as he saw two suited people walk up, a man and a woman respectively. Mordecai stared at them as they handed him a pair of jeans to cover his modesty, quickly putting them on he looked around at the... well, different world.
"Welcome to Tenebrae, may we ask your name?" the woman said, looking very professional while being around a half naked person, given the circumstances most would be in a laughing fit for the fact he was having to cover his crotch with a hand before the emergency clothing arrived. "Uh, yeah. I'm Mordecai. Look, I get into this kinda thing a whole effin' lot, so if you can just send me back, it'd be cool." he said nonchalantly, moving his messy blue hair from his face. "What's your second name? Don't worry sir, you'll be back in your home world eventually." the woman replied. "Well... Uh... I didn't ever get one." he said scratching his head, looking around. "Let's call you Mordecai Cobalt, due to your blue hair." Mordie nodded, staring at the less talkative male member of the staff with his dark brown eyes. "Hey, what's his deal?" the former blue jay stated. "I'm here to calm things down. There can be some problems with VRDs and I'm trained mostly to diffuse a problem in the most efficient way possible." Mordie nodded "Don't worry, I see this alot, we cool." The woman nodded too, pointing in a direction towards housing "We will get you all set up, just come with us" she stated, walking along while Mordecai begrudgingly accepted, deciding to go along with it for the moment. "This better be temporary though, Margaret isn't gonna find me hot if she sees me like this."
