Zoro wasn't so sure he liked this place. At first glance, it seemed peaceful and calm, but in the swordsman's experience, exterior appearances were never a reflection of what things were like on the inside. Every time he saw one of those men in suits, he got the strangest feeling. He couldn't quite describe it, but it was a bad feeling. And even though he couldn't remember everything, he knew he didn't belong here. There weren't pirates or Marines or bounty hunters; Zoro was out of place here.
He'd taken to wandering, though with his sense of direction, that wasn't the best of ideas. He wasn't going to be able to tell where he was, even if he had a map in front of him. No, his wandering was more so he could test the waters and see what he was able to get away with. Eventually, he'd wandered his way out into a wide open field. He wasn't quite sure why, but he liked this place best. It was simple, not complicated and befuddled like everything else in this place. And when the wind blew and made the grass ripple, it almost reminded him of waves on the sea.
He'd picked a direction and started walking. There really wasn't any reason for him to leave town this way; if he was really going to leave, he could always grab one of those car things and use that. But he was curious. It didn't take him long to hit the fence - or maybe it did, he had a tendency to zone out - and he frowned, looking up at the wall like it had appeared out of thin air. Crossing his arms over his chest, the swordsman contemplated just climbing over, or maybe cutting through the wall. He wasn't sure how much of his strength had returned, since he was still recovering from that beating he'd taken. He should be able to cut through that fence... right?
Sighing, Zoro shook his head. Even if he did leave, where the hell would he go? He still didn't know where he was, or who he was supposed to be here with. He knew he had some people to find, but he just... couldn't quite remember yet. Shrugging, he turned around, trudging back a ways into the field before picking a spot and stopping. While he was out here, he might as well start training again. Tugging the swords out of his haramaki, he set them on the grass beside him, grabbing only the darkest blade and unsheathing it. The dark purple blade gleamed in the sunlight, and Zoro inspected it carefully, checking to make sure that the sword was still in perfect condition. Shusui felt heavier than he remembered, and the swordsman frowned slightly, but he shrugged it off. Gripping the sword with both hands, he widened his stance fractionally, holding the sword out in front of him and taking a deep breath before moving through his usual warm up drills. He'd start off easy - probably a thousand of each drill before moving on to trying two sword maneuvers.
